Tips for Removing a Chimney

Complete chimney removals cost between $2,000 - $4,000 on average. If the chimney is relatively big or is incorporated into the home's structure, the cost could reach $6,000 or more.

The cost of a complete chimney removal includes:

  • chimney stack removal
  • chimney breast removal
  • rectifying the resulting space

Chimney removal costs can vary quite a bit depending on the removal method (partial or complete), the size of the chimney, and the materials and installation methods used to build the chimney. For example, if your chimney is bolted onto the outside of the home, it will be easier to remove than a chimney that's centrally located in the home.

Project: Brick Chimney Removal
Location: Little Rock, AR 72210
plan to do new roof, maybe metal. Old chimney is not useful, ugly and was used with a wood burning stove in the yrs before 1995. The house was built in 1975, I believe. It starts at the base of the house, so that area of baldness will need to be filled in and I would love for the old brick to be used if possible. I hope to have the exterior of the house (brick) painted after the chimney is removed.
Project: Demolish and Remove a Chimney
Location: Little Rock, AR 72211
We have not been able to find the cause of a recurring leak in our attic and have already spent thousands of dollars to get it repaired. The leak is coming in around the chimney, so we would like an estimate for removing the chimney stack to the roof line and then covering up the hole from the chimney with a waterproof cover and roofing materials.
