Demolition Tips

No matter what demolition project you're facing, a contractor must have the appropriate local and state licensing in order to perform the demolition work. Hiring an unlicensed contractor could result in an unsafe work environment, removal of your project without warning or compensation, and/or hefty fines. Licensing requirements for contractors are different from one state to the next, while other states leave licensing completely up to local levels. Make sure you know your area's licensing requirements to be sure you hire a qualified professional.

Project:
Location: Erie, PA 16511
Description:
Hello, my name is Peter Zebold and this is what happened. On March 4th my mother’s house caught fire and is a total loss. My mother hired a private adjuster to represent her. When he reviewed all relevant documents he contacted the insurance company only to find out that she did have fire insurance on this property. However the only beneficiary of the policy was the insurance company themselves. I doubt very highly my mother approved this. The situation has resulted in owning the property outright but gets nothing for the loss of the house she owned. She is currently responsible for the demolition and disposal of my childhood home. She has two weeks from notification to demolish this house or face a 1k a day fine. I do believe that she has been paying on this 5k home equity loan for quite some time and we think that she has been taken advantage of. The house in question is a row type house. This means that the neighbors’ houses are attached, further complicating the demolishing and disposal. Please feel free to contact me anytime if you think you can help or point me in the right direction. Thank you, Peter Zebold XXXXXX@XXXXX.XXX ##########
