Review by Carrie in Coffee Springs, AL

Beagles Excavation did a bad job on the installation of a culvert pipe on our property. The area from below and around the pipe completely failed after a heavy rain. Driveway totally impassable. A very dangerous situation which, thankfully, did not cause injury or death. A temporary patch was done that day by Chad where he dumped clay on top of pipe. Chad said he would come back to fix it. Then I found out his fix was only to put some concrete around the entrance which was a completely inadequate fix. The pipe needed to be pulled up, a proper bed prepared which was lacking in the installation that failed, compaction done around pipe with proper materials, which was also not done with failed installation, etc. Shortly it was evident that the clay repair compressed the pipe out of round and caused silt to collect in outlet of pipe. The clay repair also began to show a long, wide crack on the outlet side of the drive. We brought in two contractors to inspect the job. Both thought the drive was unstable, dangerous, and the offered “fix” wholly inadequate. Another company has now lifted the pipe and reinstalled it.
