Yes. Houston's Department of Public Works & Engineering publishes Building Demolition Guidelines that layout permit requirements for properties within city limits. Both residential properties and commercial buildings require a permit. A separate permit is necessary for each building being demolished, whether in whole or in part.
What steps are required by the city of Houston to receive a permit for demolishing a building?
